The Foundation does not receive any financial assistance from Government departments - we rely entirely on bequests, donations and support of our fundraising projects.

The CMRF is a registered charity under the Charities Act, which means that your donation can be tax deductible. From April 2008, new regulations introduced in New Zealand will allow donations from individuals and companies to charitable organisations to be eligible for a much more generous tax rebate. The new regulations remove current limits and are intended to encourage giving to registered organisations such as the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation. We hope this will encourage you to support the CMRF.

Companies or individuals who donate property or gifts to CMRF are also given relief from gift duty. The CMRF has registered as a charitable organisation with the Charities Commission to ensure that these gifts are exempt from gift duty. Our registration number is CC11203.

There are several ways you can help.

Make a donation – You can make a donation for general research or nominate a specific field that you’d like to support.

Funeral donations - You can nominate the CMRF as the receipient of donations made at a funeral in lieu of flowers.

Become a member – An annual subscription allows you to feel part of the world-leading research community. The Foundation will keep you in touch with regular newsletters.
Membership fees are as follows.

Individuals- $35.00 image
Family - $70.00
