Rotary Club of Christchurch Sunrise visit Van der Veer Institute

CMRF Hosted a breakfast Visit/Tour of the Van der Veer Institute, Christchurch. The members of the Rotary Club of Christchurch Sunrise enjoyed an early morning breakfast at the Institute. The visit was sponsored by ABN Amro Craigs and a donation, $645.00 from the Rotary Club of Christchurch Sunrise was greatly received on behalf of the Van der Veer Institute which will be used towards building a new laboratory at the Institute.

Professor Tim Anderson (Professor of Parkinson's Disease) who spoke to the interested group on the use of the 3T MRI Scanner located in the building in St Asaph Street. Professor Anderson explained the use of the scanner for his research project on Parkinson's disease.

Dr Richard Watts (MRI Director for CMRF) showed the Rotary Group around the MRI facility and explained how the MRI Scanner was now being used by a number of research projects in Canterbury.
The Rotary Club held their meeting at the Van der Veer Institute following the visit.
