Specific Objective(s)/Aims for this research.
Primary objectives:
To estimate the effect of prior tobacco smoke exposure on presence or absence of recurrent or persistent wheeze in 15 month old children
To estimate the effect of tobacco smoke exposure on the frequency of respiratory infections in 15 month old children
Secondary objectives
To measure the relationship of hair nicotine levels in 15 month old children to reported smoke exposure by adults in the home
To enable later assessment of effects of exposure to tobacco smoke in early childhood to key outcome measures of asthma and atopy in later childhood
