Specific Objective(s)/Aims for this research.
The specific objectives of this research are to answer two key questions regarding the abnormal saccades of Parkinsons disease.
Question 1. Is the putamen or the caudate the critical basal ganglia nucleus for saccade control?
Question 2. What is the source of hypometria of saccades in Parkinsons disease?
If we can answer these two questions we will have significantly added to the body of knowledge about what areas of the brain control saccades and which of these regions are impaired in PD.
