Specific Objective(s)/Aims for this research.
To develop array comparative genomic hybridisation (array CGH) methodology in the Christchurch setting, and to apply this specifically to the analysis of genetic imbalances in leukaemic cells of 50 cases of somatically acquired chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).
To validate array CGH findings using fluorescent in situ hybridisation (FISH) and where necessary metaphase CGH and to review clinical consequences of novel genomic imbalances identified in 1).
To explore feasibility of routine application of array CGH as a diagnostic tool.
