Annual General Meeting

The Canterbury Medical Research Foundation held its 47th Annual General Meeting
at the Rolleston Lecture Theatre, Christchurch Hospital
19th June 2008

The Chairman Mr Mike Stenhouse and 30 CMRF Members and supporters
were present at the 47th AGM
The Guest Speaker was Dr Maggie-Lee Huckabee from the Van der Veer
Institute, Christchurch.

"The Weird & Wonderful World of Swallowing" was the topic
and Dr Huckabee gave an interesting talk on the research
being carried out at the Swallowing Research Laboratory
using people with swallowing disorders, usually following
a stroke or neurological conditions.
Swallowing problems can lead to food entering the lungs
and causing respiratory problems.

Summer Studentship Award

Georgina Chisholm was awarded the Best
Scientific Summer Studentship Presentation".
