Athol Mann Lecture 2007

There was a wonderful response by the public who turned out in record numbers to listen to Professor Richard Faull speak.
An estimated 200 people attended the lecture and were entertained with an enlightening and refreshing look at the brain and brain disease. Professor Faull spoke on results from research, his team in Auckland had carried out.

Professor Faull was the guest speaker for the Athol Mann Lecture,
which was held on 5th November, 07 at the Rolleston Lecture Theatre,
Christchurch Hospital at 5.30 till 6.30pm.
"The excitement and challenges of the Human Brain"
Professor Faull is recognised nationally and internationally as a leading expert on the
anatomy and chemistry of the mammalian brain and on neurodegenerative diseases
of the human brain. His research spans 35 years and encompasses all major
regions of the brain and spinal cord.
Over the last 20 years he has expanded this foundation of basic neurosciences
research to encompass the chemical anatomy of the diseased human brain in
Huntingdon's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy and
Schizophrenia.
