Annual Research Open Day
Sunday 27th August, 2006
The CMRF Health Research Open Day once again had a large turn out of the general public keen to be informed on the latest research in Canterbury.
Displays and a chance to talk to Researchers about their Projects were very popular.
The Pathology Laboratory Tour which run every 30 minutes through the afternoon, was limited to 14 people per tour, so everyone could participate in the interesting discussions and view the specimens.

CMRF 2006 Wine & Art Auction
17th March 2006
An enjoyable night was had by all who attended the Annual CMRF Wine Auction, on Friday 17th March (St Patricks Day)
The final figures indicate around $40,000 was raised for Paediatric Research.

ATHOL MANN LECTURE 2006
31st October 2006
Over 200 members of the general public were treated to
a very interesting talk (in laymans terms) at the
Canterbury Medical Research Foundation's annual
Athol Mann Lecture Series held at the Rolleston Lecture
Theatre, Christchurch School of Medicine and Health
Sciences at the Christchurch Public Hospital.
Titled "Brain Research is a must for a healthy Society"
by Professor Graeme Jackson who is the Director of the
Brain Research Institute in Melbourne. Professor
Jackson is internationally recognised as an authority on
new MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) in the field of
Epilepsy. His present research also covers MRI of the
Brain and the mapping of brain functions.

Launch of the new MRI 3T Scanner
13th March 2007
Canterbury Medical Research Foundation and CRG Radiology Group celebrated the launch of the new 3T MRI Scanner installed at Hagley Radiology and the Van der Veer Institute on the corner of St Asaph and Stewart Streets, Christchurch on Tuesday 13th March 2007.
